Three rushing touchdowns from Josh Jacobs, a passer rating over 100.0 from Jordan Love, over 100 yards from Christian Watson, and both an interception and a fourth touchdown from the defense weren’t enough for the Green Bay Packers to overcome a shorthanded Detroit Lions lose 34-31 in overtime at Ford Field.
Despite taking two leads in the second half and then tying the score at 31-11, the Packers were unable to put the game away slow and Jared Goff led the Lions down the field and scored the game-winning field goal as time expired.
The Packers started slowly and led 7-0 in the first quarter and 17-7 at halftime. However, Matt LaFleur’s team came alive in the second half, using a quick touchdown drive and takeaway to take the lead in the first four minutes of the third quarter. The Lions simply couldn’t be denied, scoring on three of their final four possessions to finish the game with a victory.
The Packers are currently 9-4. The Lions have won 11 straight games and are in prime position to top the standings with a 12-1 record with four games remaining.
