Sections No update from Matt LaFleur on Jordan Love’s status entering Week 4

Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur had no update on Jordan Love’s injury status ahead of Week 4. Love, who sprained his medial collateral ligament in the season opener, has missed the last two games but practiced all of last week and practiced for the Tennessee game on Sunday.

Packers players left Love questionable after he was constrained to all three practices prior to Week 3. LaFleur confirmed that Love took part in the team’s reps at practice last week.

Love will continue to be on Limited status with the Packers.

“I’m sure he’ll be limited this week and then he’ll take it day by day,” LaFleur said Monday.

In Love’s absence, Malik Willis has started each of the last two games, helping the Packers to 16-10 victories over the Indianapolis Colts and 30-14 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

The Packers will face the undefeated Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. Brian Flores’ defense is second in points allowed through three weeks, so getting Love back could be key in deciding the NFC North.

“He’s working on it,” LaFleur said. “He wants to be there. We want him to be there.”

The Packers will practice Wednesday and then release their first injury report of Week 4. The final report will be released Friday afternoon.

It probably isn’t difficult to predict what lies ahead. The Packers will list Love as constrained in practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, then rule him questionable to play on the final injury report, leaving the door open for him to play Sunday and forcing the Vikings to prepare for both Love and Willis.

The original timeline for Love’s injury — suffered Sept. 6 in Brazil — was 3-6 weeks. A return Sunday against the Vikings would put him within the three-week window.
