After a week away from his teammates and a team-imposed one-game suspension, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs has made tremendous progress over the past two games.
In wins over the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans, Doubs completed 11 of 14 targets for 143 yards, nine first downs and two touchdowns. He leads the team in all five categories – catching, throwing, receiving yards, first downs and receiving touchdowns – between Weeks 6 and 7.
Against the Cardinals, Doubs caught two third-down touchdown passes from Jordan Love. Last Sunday, he completed a team-high eight passes for 94 yards, including two catches in the game-winning drive.
Over the last two weeks, Doubs ranked sixth in catches and 12th in receiving yards among receivers. He averages 2.32 yards per route and has six catches, the most of any player since Week 6.
Love’s passer rating when targeting Doubs over the last two weeks is 149.1.
Here’s how Doubs started Sunday’s win over the Texans with a 23-yard catch on the game’s first play from scrimmage:
Understandably, after the suspension, there were concerns about chemistry – both between the quarterback and receiver and in the receiving room. However, Doubs returned and immediately became Love’s trusted target again and played a huge role in subsequent victories.
