Sections Packers WR Romeo Doubs misses practice for personal reasons

Green Bay Packers receiver Romeo Doubs was not on the practice field Thursday due to personal reasons and will be on the practice field every day before Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Coach Matt LaFleur expressed hope that Doubs would return for Friday’s practice.

“Yes, I hope so,” LaFleur said Thursday. “We’ll take it one day at a time.”

Doubs played 224 offensive snaps, the most among Packers receivers in 2024.

In four games, Doubs completed 12 of 20 targets for 169 yards. He has career averages of 14.1 yards per catch and 8.5 yards per target, but after catching eight catches last season, he has yet to catch a touchdown pass. Nine of his 12 catches resulted in first downs.

The Packers also were without receiver Christian Watson, who is recovering from an ankle injury suffered Sunday against the Vikings. Watson missed back-to-back practices and is not expected to play against the Rams.

If Doubs and Watson are absent on Sunday, the Packers will have Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton and Malik Heath as the four receivers on the 53-man roster. Julian Hicks, Cornelius Johnson and TJ Luther may be transferred from the practice squad if necessary.
