Matt LaFleur’s team apparently made it through Saturday night’s Family Night without a earnest injury, though we won’t know for sure until the Green Bay Packers return to practice on Tuesday of next week. At one point Saturday night, quarterback Christian Watson collided with rookie safety Evan Williams during live 11-on-11 work, but he escaped and eventually returned.
A few other notes on Packers injuries following Family Night practice at Lambeau Field:
— Running back Josh Jacobs was available for a few early periods but did not participate in 11-on-11 work. He is recovering from a minor groin issue. He is expected to be available for practice Tuesday.
— Coach Matt LaFleur said right quarterback Zach Tom (pec) will likely start 11-on-11 work Tuesday. He also expects middle linebacker Tucker Kraft (pec) to return from the PUP list. The Packers could certainly employ Tom back in the lineup as the right quarterback.
— Striker Kingsley Enagbare missed training with a up-to-date hamstring injury, by Matt Schneidman. While no one wants a cushioned tissue injury, at least it wasn’t ACL related. Remember, Enagbare is playing with a partial ACL tear he sustained in January.
— Cornerback Carrington Valentine (hamstring injury) and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hip injury) were among those who did not participate in practice because of prior injuries.
— Center Josh Myers returned to practice after missing practice on Thursday due to personal issues.
The Packers do not have an open practice on Sunday or Monday. They will return to Ray Nitschke Field on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. to begin preparations for their preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns next Saturday. Open practices are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
With Family Night now over, the Packers have three preseason games and two practices left before the regular season opener in Brazil.
