The Green Bay Packers ruled out cornerback Jaire Alexander, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, receiver Romeo Doubs and cornerback Corey Ballentine on the latest injury report before facing the Detroit Lions in Week 13 on “Thursday Night Football.”
How will the injury situation affect prime time play?
Here’s a detailed breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report heading into Week 14:
Exit (4)
CB Jaire Alexander (knee): The experienced cornerback will miss the third game in a row since the end of the Packers’ bye victory over the Chicago Bears. Alexander had circumscribed participation on Monday and Tuesday, but did not practice on Wednesday. Setback? Rehabilitation? We’ll see. Either way, Alexander’s knee needs more time to recover and he wasn’t ready to play. The Packers will miss him on Thursday night, but they will need him vigorous for the final stretch of the game.
LB Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring): The rookie linebacker first suffered a hamstring injury on Wednesday before the game against the 49ers. After sitting out all week without training, he will miss his third straight game. Quay Walker, Isaiah McDuffie and Eric Wilson will be the center fielders against the Lions’ vigorous pair of running backs. He may have a chance to return next Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
WR Romeo Doubs (concussion): He practiced on a circumscribed basis throughout the week, but apparently was unable to fully meet the league’s concussion protocol. Doubs will miss a second straight game after suffering a head injury against the 49ers. Expect more snaps from Malik Heath and Bo Melton in full roles, with Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks handling most of the work at wide receiver.
CB Corey Ballentine (knee): Ballentine, a key special teams member, suffered a knee injury while blocking after returning to the field last week and missed all three days of practice this week. The Packers do not believe his injury is a long-term problem. Without Alexander and Ballentine, the Packers will have to land a corner on the practice squad.
No status indication
The following players have no status designation and will be available to play for Thursday’s game against the Lions: DL Kenny Clark, TE John FitzPatrick, RB Josh Jacobs, OL Elgton Jenkins, LB Isaiah McDuffie, DE Arron Mosby, C Josh Myers, LT Rasheed Walker and DL Colby Wood.
Jenkins missed one day of practice this week but has attended each of the last two days.

The Lions’ injured reserves include linebacker Aidan Hutchison, linebacker Alex Anzalone, linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez, receiver Kalif Raymond, linebacker John Cominsky and linebacker Ennis Rakestraw.
