The Green Bay Packers ruled out cornerback Jaire Alexander, linebacker Javon Bullard and tight end Luke Musgrave, and on the final injury report, cornerback Corey Ballentine was listed as questionable for the Week 15 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
How will the injury affect Sunday’s clash?
Here’s a detailed breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report heading into Week 15:
Exit (3)
CB Jaire Alexander (knee): It was the fourth consecutive miss for Alexander, who practiced fully on Wednesday and Thursday but was ruled out of Friday’s practice after the Packers reviewed the previous two days’ practices. According to coach Matt LaFleur, he was not physically ready to play. Alexander’s return from a knee injury will have to wait at least another week. Since Week 8, Alexander – who will miss his seventh game this season – has played 10 snaps.
DB Javon Bullard (ankle): The rookie defensive end did not practice all week and will miss his first game of the 2024 season. He has served primarily as a cornerback, so the absence of him and Jaire Alexander will likely force the Packers to operate Keisean Nixon at center and play Carrington Valentine and Eric Stokes on the field against Jaxon Smith-Njigba, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Buckle up.
TE Luke Musgrave (ankle): He has been designated to return from injured reserve this week and there is no rush to get him back on the field until he is physically ready. Musgrave had circumscribed practice on all three days this week. It’s possible he’ll be back on the 53-man roster next week before the Packers play the Saints.
Doubtful (1)
CB Corey Ballentine (knee): He left the game after injuring his knee during the opening kickoff of the Packers’ victory over the Dolphins. He was circumscribed on Wednesday and Thursday, but was able to start with the full squad on Friday, so a return is possible – even necessary, given the injuries to Alexander and Bullard. If necessary, the Packers can move a cornerback (Kalen King again?) off the practice squad.
No status indication
The following players do not have a status designation and will be available to play on Sunday against the Seahawks: DL Kenny Clark, LB Edgerrin Cooper, WR Romeo Doubs, OL Travis Glover, OL Elgton Jenkins, LB Isaiah McDuffie, C Josh Myers, LT Rasheed Walker, DE Lukas Van Ness, S Evan Williams and DL Colby Wood.
Cooper will return after missing three games with a hamstring injury. Doubs and Williams have passed concussion protocol and will play.
Seahawks injury report
The Seahawks ruled out cornerback Tre Brown, safety Jerrick Reed II, tight end Brady Russell, offensive tackle Stone Forsythe and safety K’Von Wallace, and listed running back Kenneth Walker III and cornerback Artie Burns as questionable. The only starter in this group is Walker, a talented runner. If Walker is unable to go, Zach Charbonnet, who threw for over 190 total yards last week, will be the leader again.
