The Green Bay Packers listed quarterback Jordan Love and cornerback Jaire Alexander as questionable, cornerback Carrington Valetine as questionable and offensive lineman Jordan Morgan on the final injury report ahead of their Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
How will the injury affect Sunday’s clash?
Here’s a detailed breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report heading into Week 4:
Doubtful (2)
QB Jordan Love (knee): Same song and dance this week. Love was constrained in all three practices and is listed as questionable, which obscures his availability on Sunday. The Packers upgraded Sean Clifford last week, and Love underwent intense on-field training during Sunday’s pregame. We’ll see if the pattern changes this week. The Packers will have to beat Clifford on Saturday. If Love is unavailable on Sunday, Malik Willis will start for a third straight game.
CB Jaire Alexander (groin/quad): He had constrained training on Wednesday and Thursday due to a quadriceps injury, and did not train on Friday due to a recent groin problem. Missing practice on Friday is usually not a good sign of availability, and playing through two lower-body injuries could be tough against Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. We’ll see. The Packers are playing cornerback early in Week 4, and Alexander is a veteran who can play after an injury.
Doubtful (1)
CB Carrington Valentine (ankle): He appeared to be heading toward a comeback after Wednesday and Thursday’s practices, but Friday’s switch to DNP suggests failure. Expect Valentine to miss his second straight game. He beat Eric Stokes in week two, but injuries are usually a good reason for losing position in competitions. Given the defender’s injury problems, Stokes will be a full-time player on Sunday.
Output (1)
OL Jordan Morgan (shoulder): The Packers’ first-round pick will miss the second straight game after re-injuring his shoulder in Week 2. Morgan wasn’t placed on injured reserve, so it’s possible the Packers think he’ll return in the near future. Last week, Andre Dillard and Jacob Monk were the only two lively reserves on the offensive line. Sean Rhyan can be expected to be the full-time right-back for the second game in a row. The Packers thought Rhyan performed well last Sunday against the Titans.
No status indication
The following players do not have a status designation and will be available to play Sunday against the Titans: DL Kenny Clark, OL Elgton Jenkins, TE Tucker Kraft, TE Luke Musgrave, C Josh Myers, WR Jayden Reed, OL Zach Tom and DL Devonte Wyatt.
Vikings injury report
The Vikings have ruled out starting guard Ivan Pace Jr., but Kevin O’Connell said all remaining players will be available to play on Sunday. That means quarterback Sam Darnold, left guard Christian Darrisaw, receiver Jordan Addison, center Garrett Bradbury and rookie defensive lineman Dallas Turner are ready to play.
