The Chicago Bears have ruled out starting left guard Teven Jenkins, but have not released playing status for starting left guard Braxton Jones and starting right guard Darnell Wright – meaning they will play – ahead of Sunday’s matchup with the Green Bay Packers. according to The Athletic’s Kevin Fishbain.
Jenkins missed Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots with an ankle injury and did not practice this week. Jones and Wright missed last week with knee injuries, and rookie Caleb Williams took nine sacks in the 19-3 loss.
With Jenkins gone and Jones and Wright returning, the Bears will likely start the Packers: Jones at left wing, Doug Kramer at left tackle, Coleman Shelton at center, Matt Pryor at right wing and Wright at right wing.
Can Green Bay exploit a hole on the left side of the Bears offensive line?
Jenkins has been the Bears’ highest-graded offensive lineman through Pro Football Focus through 10 weeks. After leaving the game against the Patriots, Kramer started at left guard and allowed one sack and three total pressures in 30 pass-blocking snaps. He will face Devonte Wyatt, Kenny Clark and Karl Brooks on Sunday.
It’s possible the Bears will go with a different arrangement on the offensive line under up-to-date quarterback Thomas Brown, who replaces fired offensive coordinator Shane Waldron this week.
The Bears also ruled out substitute Kiran Amegadjie with a calf injury.
Edge running back Montez Sweat (ankle) and former Packers linebacker Tarvarius Moore (concussion) are out. Pot leads the team under pressure. Their game status will not be known until inactive players are announced 90 minutes before kickoff or approximately 10:30 CST on Sunday morning.
The Bears also expect to return forward Darrell Taylor, who ranks fourth in defense with 19 pressures. He missed last week due to a knee injury.
The Packers will release their final Week 11 injury report on Friday afternoon.
