Madison-arranging the fourth performance in the state tournament and the first since they won it all in 2019, the boys’ basketball team from Sheboygan Lutheran, went through a hearty life 80-51 in the Division 5 state semi-final.
Crusaders, taking the advantage of 36-23 during the break and shot in the second half, which gives 62% of their shots (generally 54% during the day).
Marion Buyland (23 points and 9 rebounds) and Zach Leonhard (18 points and 9 rebounds) were led by Sheboygan Lutheran, which brings one double reflection.
“We were relevant offensive,” said Nick Verhangen, Crusaders coach. “” Zach (Leonhard) penetrated the paint, and Marion (Buyland) was low, and these guys played extremely well. “
From region to the state tournament, no opponent was at a distance of 20 points from the Crusaders who were Tri-Champami of the Big East-South conference, sharing it with Kohler and Oostburg.
“These guys play with great confidence, and when we feel that we have a momentum, we understand that we must utilize it, especially in such environments,” said Verhagen.
The crusaders played at Cochrane-Fountain City at 11:05 on Saturday for the Golden Division 5 ball.
