Tessa Campbell Lincoln Sprints manito

Manitowo (NBC 26) – For years, Tessa Campbell has been an outstanding sprinter for Lincoln manitowo, consistently competing in a state and establishing two school records. Now he is paying attention to the national attention, recently competing at the Nike Indoor Nationals in New York.

“I stood in the blocks in front of our 4×400 relay and it was nice to look around and think:” In a sense I got to the highest level that has so many people, “Campbell said. “It was only a crazy experience and I am very content that I have to go.”

The culmination of years of hard work, competing in Armory, a historic athletics center, was the culmination of years of hard work.

“I really like difficult training,” said Campbell. “I like the pain that brings you.”

The Lincoln Track and Field manito coach, Michael Bubolz, said Campbell represents everything that the program is striving for.

“He personifies many things that I want our program behind,” said Bubolz. “She is one of the best events in her groups, but her teammates see how she works as difficult as everyone else. As a coach, it’s really chilly.”

Campbell fell in love with running at a young age when she was called the fastest girl in the fifth grade.

“We do what is called a safety picnic in the fifth grade,” said Campbell. “I have to run to my primary school and won, so I got this charming petite trophy.”

He also remembers defeating his friends in racing during the days of primary school. But only in junior high school her mother, Wendy Campbell, who also led the track, realized that her daughter had special talent.

“During the first meeting in the open air of the eighth class she just walked in 400, and we wondered:” Oh, you are too fast, you are too fast, “said Wendy Campbell. “But then she just continued. Then we realized – we have 400 runners on our hands. And they love what is rare. Few people like 400.”

“Springing was definitely a thing I loved the most,” added Tessa Campbell. “On the junior high school track I really fell in love with 400 because we led 4×400 and beat the guys in our races.”

Entering his last season with ships, Campbell is a three-time state qualifier and an internal 400-meter record holder (1: 00.10) and outside (57,17).

“It’s such an honor to have a child who loves sport just like her and stands out,” said Wendy Campbell.

For Tessa, seeing her name among the best athletes of the school is a satisfactory experience.

“It’s really exciting, because when I go here during classes at the gym, I see my name on the board,” she said. “I just hope it is motivational for other people in the team. I know that we have fast first -year students, so maybe they will get up and inspired.”

Coach Bubolz believes that its impact on the program will last long after graduation.

“Fresh and second -year student and guys in the band see what they are doing and think:” Hey, it could be one day, “he said.

Campbell is involved in level I Division and the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. But before he graduated, he has an unfinished matter.

“I am a very oriented person, so I would like to run a second or two faster than before,” said Campbell. “Another record on the board would be chilly, but above all I am excited about College – go there and be with a great team.”

From the fastest girl in the fifth grade to the athlete associated with the limit I, Campbell is ready for his next challenge-with one of the best in St. Thomas.
