Former Milwaukee Bucks forward Jae Crowder has joined a recent team to continue his NBA career.
On Wednesday night, Crowder, 34, made his 2024-25 NBA regular season debut with the Sacramento Kings and helped the Pacific Division club defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves en route to a 115-104 score.
Former Milwaukee Bucks forward Jae Crowder got the job done in Game 1 against the Sacramento Kings
Crowder made his presence felt immediately, as he was immediately inserted into the Kings’ starting unit. With DeMar DeRozan sidelined with a lower back injury and Trey Lyles also sidelined with a right calf strain, Sacramento head coach Mike Brown opted to start Crowder as the starter even though a vet had just arrived on the team.
The good news for the Kings is that Crowder returned Sacramento’s trust nicely, finishing with eight points on 3-of-5 shooting from the floor, along with four rebounds and a steal in 27 minutes of play. Additionally, the former Marquette Golden Eagles star had a team-best plus-16, which can be said positively about his early tenure with the Kings.
Meanwhile, Domantas Sabonis led the Kings with 27 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. De’Aaron Fox, meanwhile, totaled 26 points, eight rebounds and eight dimes.
Before joining the Kings, Crowder played two seasons with Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. During his time in Milwaukee, Crowder averaged 6.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 43.7% from the field and 37.1% from long range.
