The Milwaukee Brewers haven’t made any MLB signings yet this offseason, but they do have three non-roster invitees to huge league camp. From within the organization, they invited first baseman Ernesto Martinez. They recently added two players to the team who played elsewhere last year. These players are 3B/2B Raynel “Ray” Delgado and LF Jimmy Herron.
Raynel Delgado is a non-roster invitee to the Milwaukee Brewers’ 2025 huge league camp
Raynel Delgado has spent his entire career with the Cleveland Guardians since being selected in the sixth round of the 2018 MLB Draft. The left-handed hitter and right-handed pitcher spent the 2024 season at the Triple-A level. In 93 games, he hit .275/.375/.426 with nine home runs, 44 RBI and 22 stolen bases.
Jimmy Herron is a non-roster invitee to the Milwaukee Brewers’ 2025 huge league camp.
Originally selected in the third round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs, Jimmy Herron joined the Colorado Rockies in 2021. He spent the entire season on their Triple-A team last year. In 95 games, he hit .280/.357/.453 with 14 home runs, 68 RBI, 16 stolen bases and an astonishingly low 14% slugging rate. Throughout his Minor League career, he posted a high average (career .270 batting average), made good contact, and showed good home run power (13-19 home runs in each of the last three seasons).
Why do the Milwaukee Brewers sign Minor League contracts?
In early November, the Brewers saw 17 former Minor League players hit free agency. The additions of Raynel Delgado and Jimmy Herron don’t make headlines often, but improving depth at their Triple-A level is crucial. It can be expected that there will be more such transfers in the off-season.
