The Milwaukee Bucks get a blunt four-word truth bomb dropped on them by Charles Barkley

The Milwaukee Bucks want to make up for the loss 113-110 loss on Thursday night against the Brooklyn Nets against the Portland Trailblazers. Damian Lillard, arguably the best player in Trailblazers history, is eager to return himself after two disappointing games in a row in which he struggled to knock down shots.

In Milwaukee’s 120-112 win over the Indiana Pacers, Lillard was just 3/14 off the floor, which included going 3/9 from three. He had just nine points. Against Brooklyn, he scored 23 points but made just six of his 20 shots (4/13 from three).

However, one NBA legend doesn’t have much faith in Lillard and the Bucks right now.

After Milwaukee’s loss to the Nets on Thursday, the Hall of Famer Charles Barkley shared a very brief and concise review of their performance this season: “The Bucks stink, man.”

It’s very challenging to argue with Barkley’s assessment at this point. Although Milwaukee beat the Pacers, they did so only after giving up 19 points and then making up for the loss. Even though they only lost by three to the delicate Nets, at one point they were down by as many as 24 points.

With a record of 17-15, the Bucks are certainly not where they thought they would be at this stage of the season. A 2-8 start that included a six-game losing streak had many NBA fans and analysts wondering when Giannis Antetokounmpo would request a trade.

Milwaukee turned things around, or at least it seemed like they did, and won the second annual NBA Cup in Las Vegas last month. However, they still have to prove that they can consistently beat the best teams in the league (apart from beating the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Cup).

Is there a reason for hope for Milwaukee Bucks fans?

While Milwaukee’s record isn’t where it should be, Bucks fans actually have reason to be positive. The truth is, having Lillard alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo makes them a force to be reckoned with in every game.

Moreover, the Bucks are still trying to find their style and identity after suffering injuries earlier in the season. Khris Middleton only made his season debut a few weeks ago, and Giannis and Lillard have missed multiple games due to illness.

One would hope that Milwaukee would sort things out by Game 33, but that hasn’t happened, and there are many reasons for that.

However, the longer their core stays robust, the better they will be as the season progresses. All they need is to heated up in time for the NBA Playoffs.
