The Milwaukee Bucks aren’t the first name that comes out of the average NBA fan’s mouth when asked about potential NBA champions. While the team boasts one of the best two-shots in the league, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are not teenage.
Moreover, many don’t favor this lineup as much as other hefty hitters in the Eastern Conference. Although Khris Middleton is an excellent basketball player, many would agree that he is not the best option for the third spot in the large three when other players can handle the role without having to worry about Middleton’s injury history.
It may seem like the Bucks are being dismissed as sedate championship contenders because even the league hasn’t added them to its core lineup for Christmas Day games. However, the trio who led the Bucks last season are still aiming for the top as they share their goals for the upcoming season.

FOX6 Milwaukee’s Steve Mergargee was present when the trio were asked about their expectations for the upcoming season, and fans may have different reactions to what their key trio wants to achieve in the upcoming campaign.
Antetokounmpo is focused on taking things one step at a time, and his goal follows the team’s first-round exit last season:
“We have to get out of the first round,” he said two-time MVP – he said during Bucks’ Media Day on Monday. “Let’s start with this.”
Lillard understood that fans and analysts were disappointed with his performance in Milwaukee and will try to show a better version of himself in the future:
“I know my teammates and coaches will see the real version of me this year,” Lillard said.
For the third option, Middleton has a lot of pressure on his shoulders, with injuries putting his long-term future with the team in large doubt. His goal shows how aware he is of the questions surrounding him:
“I’ll be on the court as much as possible this week, so we won’t be catching up as much,” Middleton said.
The Bucks’ immediate future depends on how the season plays out. With teams like the Golden State Warriors circling Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee needs to get as deep into the playoffs as possible.
From the responses of the top three players on the squad, it is clear that the team is committed to having the best season possible and securing their squad for the next few seasons.
