The Packers are returning veteran OL to the practice squad

The Green Bay Packers returned veteran offensive lineman Michael Jordan to the practice squad on Monday. The appropriate roster move was to release Spencer Rolland from the practice squad.

Jordan, a fourth-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2019, spent most of the 2023 season on the Packers’ practice squad. The 26-year-old headed to New England, where he appeared in 12 games and played in 11 games for the Patriots this season – playing 685 snaps on offense. He was released by the Patriots on December 3.

Jordan played almost all of his snaps at left guard for the Patriots. He committed two penalties (one holding, one false start), allowed three sacks and 23 pressures while struggling as a run blocker, according to Pro Football Focus.

Jordan previously played 19 games for the Cincinnati Bengals and 10 for the Carolina Panthers. He has appeared in 67 career games, playing nearly 2,800 snaps at left tackle at the NFL level.

If nothing else, Jordan will provide the Packers with an experienced offensive lineman who knows the system and can play defensively through the 2024 season. He will have three practice squad upgrades available.

Jordan originally joined the Packers’ practice squad on September 12, 2023. He signed a futures contract with the Patriots on January 24 of this year.
