The Packers break the NFL record for most postseason appearances in league history

The Green Bay Packers are back in the postseason and currently no team in NFL history has made more postseason appearances.

The Packers made the postseason for the 37th time, setting a recent NFL record. Green Bay previously had a tie with the Dallas Cowboys at 36 after both clubs advanced to the postseason in 2023.

The Packers qualified for the postseason in five of Matt LaFleur’s first six seasons as head coach. LaFleur is currently 3-4 in the postseason with wins in 2019, 2020 and 2023.

Sunday’s trip to Philadelphia to play the Eagles gives the Packers a chance to add a few records of their own. The team’s 13 postseason road wins and 11 wild card wins are the most in history. A victory over the Eagles would make the Packers second all-time in playoff wins with 38, behind only the San Francisco 49ers (39).

The Packers have advanced to the postseason 13 times in the last 16 years, the most in the NFL. They are also the first NFC team to appear in the playoffs since the team was reshuffled in 2002 (16).

Last year, the Packers became the first (and currently only) No. 7 seed in NFL history to win a playoff game when they defeated the Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card round.

The Packers are 6-2 all-time in the postseason when ranked 6th or 7th in the standings (1993, 2010, 2023).

The Packers will face the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in the NFC Wild Card round on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET. If the Packers win, they will travel to Detroit to face the top-seeded Lions in the NFC divisional round.
