Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Jordan Morgan has aggravated a pre-existing shoulder injury and will miss at least Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.
Coach Matt LaFleur said Morgan – the team’s first-round pick – suffered a shoulder injury during the week’s practice. The Packers ruled him out Sunday on the final injury report.
“It happened yesterday in practice (aggravated shoulder),” LaFleur said Friday. “Unfortunately again. We’re going through the process of what’s next, so we’re just working on it.
It is possible that Morgan will be placed on injured reserve. The rookie originally suffered a shoulder injury during training camp, which prevented him from earning the right-back job. Upon his return, Morgan re-injured his shoulder in Week 2 and missed three games.
When Morgan was fit, he rotated through the lineup, with Sean Rhyan at right-back.
Morgan has committed seven tackles, including three quarterback hits, and committed one penalty in 186 snaps in six games this season, according to Pro Football Focus.
If Morgan were to be sidelined for an extended period of time, Rhyan would become the full-time right-back player and debutant Jacob Monk would likely become a top-line reserve center.
The Packers made Morgan the 25th overall pick in the 2024 draft.
