The Green Bay Packers returned three starters to the field on Thursday, including linebacker Quay Walker. According to Wes Hodkiewicz from the band’s official websiteWalker, left guard Elgton Jenkins and center Josh Myers returned to practice after missing Wednesday’s session.
Walker is going through the league’s concussion protocol after sustaining a head injury during Sunday’s scary game.
Jenkins is struggling with a buttock injury, and Myers is struggling with a wrist injury. Both had recent injuries starting this week’s game.
According to Hodkiewicz, the only player who will not practice on Thursday is defenseman Corey Ballentine, who is struggling with an ankle injury.
The Packers survived last week’s win with Edgerrin Cooper, Isaiah McDuffie and Eric Wilson at linebacker after Walker – the team’s leader in receiving – went down on the 13th defensive play.
The returns of Jenkins and Myers could aid the Packers prevent a major reshuffle on the offensive line. Myers is the starting center while Jenkins is the left back and the team’s best option as a backup center. It’s unclear how the Packers would form their offensive line if Jenkins and Myers were unavailable.
More good news on the injury front: Defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt was able to practice for the second straight day. That’s a good sign after he returned Wednesday for the first time since suffering an ankle injury in Week 4. Wyatt, who has three sacks in the first four weeks, is increasingly likely to return to action in Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Packers will provide a final injury report with a status determination Friday afternoon.
