The Packers sections return 3 veterans to training on Thursday, including Jaire Alexander

Good news on the injury front for the Green Bay Packers as they continue to prepare for Week 5: Three veterans, including cornerback Jaire Alexander, returned to the team’s practice on Thursday in Wes Hodkiewicz from the band’s official website.

Alexander missed Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings with a groin injury and was unable to participate in Wednesday’s practice. However, his return on Thursday, even in a restricted lineup, opens the door for Alexander to play Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.

The other veterans who returned to practice were offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, who missed Wednesday with a modern knee injury, and defensive lineman Kenny Clark, who is still dealing with a lingering toe injury.

One potential injury concern to monitor: Receiver Romeo Doubs did not practice Thursday. He has a modern injury. The Packers will provide an injury update after Thursday’s practice.

Tight end Luke Musgrave, receiver Christian Watson, defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt and rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper were the four others who did not play in the game. Musgrave, Watson and Wyatt all have ankle injuries. Cooper has a hip injury. All four may be in danger of missing the game on Sunday in Los Angeles.

The absence of Watson and Doubs would put the passing game in a hard position, although Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks and Bo Melton would handle the load well.

Cornerback Carrington Valentine and offensive lineman Jordan Morgan are practicing for the second straight day and potentially getting both players ready for Sunday’s game. Getting Alexander and Valentine back would be a huge boost to the cornerback position, which was criticized at times against the Vikings last week.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur will speak to the media after Thursday’s practice.
