The long -time special team Chris Banjo, who played their first matches in the NFL as a unable free agent signed by Green Bay Packers, was appointed coordinator of the Special Teams New York Jets. The team announced employment on Friday.

Banjo spent the last two seasons as an assistant to the coordinator of special teams at Denver Broncos under Sean Payton and Mike Westhoff. Now Banjo will lead a special unit of teams under the leadership of the main coach of the first year Aaron Glenn in New York for the first time.

Banjo, currently 34, retired with the NFL in 2023. He played in 131 career matches (and 10 Play -Ff matches) and was on the pitch for almost 2,500 special special teams while playing for three different franchises – Packers, Nowy Orlean Saints and Saints and Arizona Cardinals.

Banjo came out of Sm. The CEO of Packers Ted Thompson signed it at the end of July before the start of the training camp in 2013, and Banjo almost immediately became the main special team in Green Bay.

As a first -year player, Banjo played over 250 Snaps of special teams. In 2015, Banjo led the team in special teams and was the captain of Playoff in special teams. He was released by Packers with a settlement due to injury in 2016.

Banjo played three seasons with Saints and Four Seasons with cardinals after Green Bay’s departure.

According to Jets Banjo, he made 58 equipment covering his career at the NFL.
