In a similar move to neighboring counties, members of the County Deer Advisory Council in Washburn and Sawyer counties in Wisconsin have recommended reducing the number of antlerless deer permits during the 2024 fall hunt.
Last year’s antlerless permits in Washburn County were 3,100 on public lands and 6,000 on private lands. This year, the recommendation covers 1,000 permits on public lands and 5,000 on private lands, reflecting what CDAC members have heard from the public.
