The results of the greatest deer and chronic DNR (CWD) disease that has ever been carried out show that the disease significantly reduces deer survival indicators and suppresses the growth of deer population.
Dr Dan Storm, DNR Ungulate Research Scientist, reported the results of a seven -year study at Southwest Wisconsin to the Natural Resources Council on January 22.
“People should expect a smaller number of deer in areas with high distribution of CWD,” said Storm. “Deer will not become extinct, but there will be fewer.”
