Duck hunters will have difficulty navigating Theresa Marsh this fall, when the water level is radically reduced to enable the construction and repair of the main dyke, which with a full pool accumulates almost 1,500 acres of water.
Steffen Peterson is the DNR property manager at Wisconsin at Theresa Marsh. He said that a long mile shaft on both sides of the dam on the eastern Rock River, in the northwestern part of the swamp, was built in 1968 from the soil near the construction site.
