Choosing the 10 best hunting and fishing movies should be fun, right? But for the Outdoor News crew, it was harder than it sounds because there are surprisingly few good movies.
There are some trashy titles that depict Hollywood’s vision of a up-to-date Elmer Fudd stumbling around in long underwear, but they’re more embarrassing than humorous. If there were a solid hunting parody – say, Caddyshack meets Deer Camp – we’d be joyful to have it and include it here. Until then, the 10 films we’ve selected here all feature some form of hunting and fishing, but are generally solid survival movies with good acting.
