A February fire at an aquaculture feed plant in Utah could impact trout and salmon hatchery operations now and in the future, at least in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.
Those overseeing DNR fish hatcheries in all three states relied on Skretting’s specialized trout and salmon feed to raise trout and salmon for inland waters and the Great Lakes. Skretting’s Tooele, Utah facility produces a wide range of aquaculture feeds. A fire may force the closure of this plant.
