Video captures the exact moment CC Sabathia heard she was going into the Baseball Hall of Fame

In his first year of eligibility for Cooperstown former Milwaukee Brewers pitcher CC Sabathia earned enough votes to be part of the Baseball Hall of Fame class of 2025. Sabathia received 86.8 percent of the votes, with only former Seattle Mariners star Ichiro Suzuki having a higher percentage of votes in the class. (Suzuki was a near-unanimous first-ballot Hall of Famer with a vote rate of 99.7%).

Many expected Sabathia to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2025, which also explains why he was in the company of many friends and family on Tuesday while waiting for the vote results. Major League Baseball even released video of the moment Sabathia received the call saying his spot in Cooperstown was finally reserved.

Sabathia was certainly one of the best pitchers during his career in the large leagues, and with his election to the Baseball Hall of Fame, it can officially be said that he truly is one of the greatest pitchers of all time.

During his MLB career, which spanned from 2001 to 2019, Sabathia played for the Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees. Over the course of nearly two decades, Sabathia earned six All-Star nominations, won the American League Cy Young Award, won the World Series and twice led the large leagues in wins.

In 561 appearances on the mound, Sabathia amassed a record of 251-161 and a 3.74 ERA.
