Preliminary data from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources indicates that Wisconsin’s six Chippewa tribes took record low numbers of walleye this spring on ceded territory.
Data collected after activity overnight on May 23 shows a total of 27,097 walleyes reported, along with 169 muskies. These are preliminary numbers until the Great Lakes Indian Fish & Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC) and DNR can analyze the data after the season ends.
