The Wisconsin Badgers finished the college football season with a 5-7 record and were not eligible for a bowl game this season. Many of the Badgers’ problems this season have been on the offensive side of the football. Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke finished his season before October with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Braedyn Locke was the starting quarterback for the remainder of the Wisconsin Badgers’ 2024 season. The attack lacked strength and it was decided to fire offensive coordinator Phil Longo instead of putting Locke on the bench.

Badgers point guard Braedyn Locke reportedly entered the transfer portal on Wednesday Evan Flood of 247sports. This seems like a huge surprise since it seemed like an afterthought after how poorly he played this season. Locke completed 55.4% of his passes for 1,936 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Many of his passes resulted in a hit at the line of scrimmage. With Locke entering the transfer portal, it is unknown at this time who will be the starting quarterback for the Wisconsin Badgers during the 2025 college football season.

How bad is the Wisconsin football program if even Braedyn Locke doesn’t want to play there. Apparently he hates Wisconsin and Luke Fickell. Wisconsin may be the worst team in the country if they can even get enough players to play. Fickell makes Don Morton look good.

If no one enters the portal to replace Locke, it’s possible that Mabrey Mettauer or Carter Smith will be the Badgers’ starting quarterback next season. Head coach Łukasz Fickell he needs to find a reliable quarterback for 2025 if he doesn’t want to play one of these two players right away.
