What Can Acorn Availability Tell Us About Deer? Georgia Study Takes on the Subject

It is common knowledge among hunters that the migration of white-tailed deer is primarily based on food.
Acorns are therefore a significant part of the deer diet. To learn more about acorn production and its impact on deer behavior, University of Florida researcher Kelsey Demeny conducted a two-year study of oak trees to determine which oaks produce the most mast and how white-tailed deer behave around them.
