“When will he be able to play?” – The Wisconsin Badgers defenseman is missing a second straight game, leaving fans increasingly worried

The Wisconsin Badgers entered the transfer portal this offseason and landed three notable names, one of whom had yet to debut with the team.

Guard Camren Hunter participated in the exhibition game against UW-River Falls, but has since missed the first two games of the regular season. Initially, many thought Hunter was injured, but it later turned out to be an illness that sidelined the guard. Hunter has been absent from the team while dealing with the current illness, even though many expected the defender to make his debut.

Following the victory over the Holy Cross Crusaders, Hunter was upgraded to available for Wisconsin, per Big Ten Conference inactivity reports. However, Hunter did not play for the Badgers against Montana State, which raised concerns among many.

At a time when college basketball, and college sports in general, are in such a volatile state, the risk of losing players has become extremely high. Due to the venerable school style of coaching that Greg Gard offers, some of the younger generation may be wrongly offended.

However, everything fans and analysts have stated about Hunter’s status so far has been speculation, and Hunter has remained hushed. The defender is expected to make his debut against App State, but before that happens he will have to go through some tough training.

The talented defenseman transferred to the Wisconsin Badgers from Central Arkansas, where he started all 60 games he played in two seasonsS. Hunter suffered a lower body injury before the start of last season and missed the entire year. During his career with the team, the guard averaged 15.5 points per game, five rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

The Wisconsin Badgers will face another test against App State before a tough game in Arizona

Hunter is expected to face App State, but the Wisconsin Badgers will need to secure a win regardless of who is on the team.

App State is currently ranked No. 155 in the college basketball rankings, and even though this is the toughest team Wisconsin has ever faced, it still had an “easy” victory. The Wisconsin Badgers have a game against No. 10 Arizona in which they need to be careful, so the Badgers need a confident win over App State.

The Mountaineers gave up 108 points in their opening win over St. Andrews to open the 2024 basketball season. The Wisconsin Badgers haven’t scored more than 100 points in a game since they did it against Arkansas State last season, winning 105-76. App State loves to shoot the ball and will shoot from even the smallest of spaces, which means Wisconsin must play solid defense to win.

If Wisconsin can put it all together and pull off a convincing victory over the Mountaineers, it could be a morale booster for the Arizona Wildcats.
