One of the great mysteries of muskie fishing is where to find them, or at least where to find the fish that will bite today. Should we fish demanding structure or gentle structure? There is no plain answer that will work every day – where to fish depends on the day and season.
Structure defined in the fishing lexicon is the bottom of a lake that does not change, like breaklines and rocks. On the other hand, “cover” is material that changes or disappears over time, such as weeds, fallen trees, artificial mulches, etc. All fish species utilize structures and/or cover at some point during the year.
