Former Wisconsin Badgers player Braelon Allen is the second running back on the New York Jets depth chart. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Breece Hall is the Jets’ starting running back.
On Sunday, Aaron Rodgers threw a 12-yard pass to Allen in the second quarter for his first touchdown of his NFL career as the New York Jets beat the Tennessee Titans 24-17. New York improved to 1-1 on the season while Tennessee fell to 0-2 on the year.
Former Wisconsin Badgers tight end Braelon Allen scores two touchdowns for the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon
Allen was more involved in the Jets’ offense in Week 2 than he was in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers. Braelon Allen also had a game-winning 20-yard touchdown run for the New York Jets in the fourth quarter. He finished the game with 33 yards rushing on seven attempts and one touchdown. Allen also caught two passes for 23 yards receiving and one touchdown.
That’s a good sign for the New York Jets, because they don’t have to run to Breece Hall. Breece Hall led the Jets in rushing with 62 yards on 14 attempts and zero touchdowns. He also caught seven passes for 52 yards and a touchdown.
Fans’ reaction
There’s a reason the Wisconsin Badgers don’t have Braelon Allen in the defensive backfield this season. He has a chance to play a huge role in the New York Jets’ offense this season. Here’s what some fans had to say about his performance on Sunday:
Braelon Allen is 20 years and 239 days venerable.
It’s his second TD of the game (and his entire NFL career).

@BraelonAllen Seriously, man. No 🧢 🕺🏽
— Breece Hall (@BreeceH) September 15, 2024
I’ll sum it up as a lack of running game. And it won’t get any better. #Cowboys We had a number of ways to address this issue this offseason, including signing Derrick Henry, who wanted to come here, or having a draft #Badger Braelon Allen, who will be a star for the Jets. But no.

It’s captivating that New York Jets running back Breece Hall has such high praise for the former Wisconsin Badgers running back. This won’t be the last time Braelon Allen scores touchdowns for them this season.
