Wisconsin Badgers senior guard John Tonje was named Big 10 Player of the Week, becoming just the fourth Badger in program history to score 40 points.
He was just two points away from breaking the single-game program record set by Frank Kaminsky, who scored 43 points. Tonje set a single-game school record by making 21 free throws.
John Tonje scored 41 points against the Arizona Wildcats
In the Badgers’ upset win over No. 9 Arizona on Friday, the seniors posted career highs 41 steering. Tonje became the only player in the last 30 years to score 40 points and make 20 free throws in a single game against an AP Top 10 opponent.
Lute Olson also received National Player of the Week honors on November 18. The 2025 Lute Olson National Player of the Year will be announced in April in San Antonio.
John Tonje’s playing days with the Missouri Tigers
He averaged it 14.6 points last year and helped Colorado State reach 80 career wins. Tonje joined the Missouri Tigers on March 27, 2023.
John Tonje was only average 2.8 PPG appeared in eight games for Missouri last season due to injury. He’s average 22.6 PPG this season with the Badgers.
