Wisconsin Badgers: Massive underdogs against #4 Alabama Crimson Tide

The Wisconsin Badgers are 2-0 to start the college football season, but haven’t dominated any of their games. Wisconsin will face a different opponent this weekend when they welcome the #4 Alabama Crimson Tide to town.

Wisconsin cornerback Xavier Lucas (6) is escorted by a member of the coaching staff during the fourth quarter of the game against South Dakota on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin.

In this all-important game, this game will start at 11 a.m. ET on FOX. The game will be played at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin. Alabama may be the best team the Badgers will face on their schedule all season.

The Crimson Tide is one of the top teams in the country entering the third week of college football. Alabama is one of six SEC teams ranked in the AP top 10. The Alabama Crimson Tide had only a 14-13 lead over the USF Bulls entering the fourth quarter last week until they pulled away from the Bulls with a 42-16 final score.

If the Crimson Tide do the same to the Wisconsin Badgers on the road, they might lose this time. However, FanDuel Sports Betting has the Badgers as huge underdogs this week. Alabama is a -15.5 point favorite this weekend. The odds on the spread are set at -110.

As for the over/under, the points total is 50.5 points. The over is set at -108 and the under is set at -112. Interestingly, the Badgers are underdogs by that many points.

Quarterback Jalen Milroe completed 65.7 percent of his passes for 394 yards and five touchdowns. He has yet to throw an interception this season. Milroe also rushed for 81 yards on 22 attempts and scored four touchdowns and averaged 3.7 yards per attempt.

Running back Jam Miller rushed for 194 yards on 20 attempts and scored two touchdowns and averaged 9.7 yards per catch. Rookie wide receiver Ryan Williams is a player who could potentially burn up the Wisconsin Badgers defense. He caught six passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns and averaged 34.5 yards per catch.

The Wisconsin Badgers could make the first half of their game against the Alabama Crimson Tide intriguing. However, Alabama has better players on the field than Wisconsin and will pull away in the second half.
