The Wisconsin Badgers offense has been starting to hit its stride over the past few weeks. Wisconsin went on the road and easily defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 42-7 on Saturday afternoon.
One of the reasons Wisconsin has looked much better on offense over the last two weeks is that guard Tawee Walker is starting to play well. Walker rushed for 198 yards on 24 carries and three touchdowns, and averaged 8.2 yards per carry.
Wisconsin Badgers head coach Luke Fickell praises Tawee Walker’s performance
After the game, Badgers head coach Luke Fickell spoke positively about the return to form Dillon Graff from Athlon Sports. Fickell said:
“I think he’s getting healthier. I also think he gets into trouble himself. I think the offensive line and running backs have the ability to work together. That’s what I always found impressive about Rutgers and their ability to run the football and how well their offensive line and defense worked together. I think that’s what we’re seeing with Tawee and his ability and these guys’ ability to understand what he does well and how we can continue to rely on him.
This is a good sign for the offense as this is what they have been missing this season. Wisconsin improved to 4-2 on the season with the win, while Rutgers dropped to 4-2 on the season.
The Northwestern Wildcats’ next opponent
The Northwest wildcats they are 3-3 heading into the 2024 college football season. They will host the Badgers next weekend in another BIG10 conference game. Walker and the Badgers will look to keep their offense going against the Wildcats.
The Wisconsin Badgers after this week will host the No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions next week. However, the Badgers can’t be caught looking ahead, and their game against the Northwestern Wildcats will start at 11 a.m. ET.
