Wisconsin basketball hopeful Tref Rademaker is generating a lot of buzz
One of the top rising prospects in Wisconsin basketball’s 2027 recruiting class is a power forward and center Meet Rademaker. Rademaker, a 6-foot-8 stretch wing with explosive moves around the basket, has emerged as a player to watch on the AAU circuit this summer. The winger will be featured at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam, a major AAU tournament that often attracts the biggest and best recruits in each class.
So far, Rademaker is averaging 7.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Herro’s Teamincluding 17 points in one of the last games.
Tref Rademaker: “I plan to keep working on my game and get bigger, better and stronger”
The recruiting process hasn’t even begun for Rademaker, but the recruit certainly caught the attention of coaches ahead of the AAU tournament. Rademaker was considered the top recruit in the state of Wisconsin for the 2027 recruiting class. The forward’s primary goal was to develop his game ahead of next season in hopes of really making a splash and earning college offers.
When asked about recruiting, Rademaker stated, “I plan on continuing to work hard on my game and trying to get bigger, better, stronger.” Rademaker, also a member of the Wisconsin AAU basketball program Herro’s Team and teammates of Donovan Davis, who received a scholarship from the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team.
Does Rademaker have what it takes to be a Wisconsin Badgers basketball player?
While Rademaker may still be a raw prospect, he certainly has the chops to be a prototypical Wisconsin basketball player. Rademaker has an extremely well-developed low-range shot, but he can also hit mid-range and three-point shots when needed. At 6-foot-8, Rademaker also runs the court very well for his size and still has room for potential growth, as his father is supposedly 6 feet 10 inches.
Rademaker will be the first to admit that he is still raw and needs to work on certain aspects of his game. When asked about this, the recruit stated, “Areas of improvement are focusing on better footwork and movement on defense.” Rademaker also stated that he needs to get physically stronger to be more powerful in the three-second zone and on rebounds.
