Following Allen’s announcement regarding his list of schools, a return to Wisconsin remains a distinct possibility for the recruit.
Wisconsin basketball lands final six schools for forward Amari Allen
Last night, the Wisconsin basketball staff received some great news when a four-star forward Amari Allen included Wisconsin in his final six schools. The 2025 forward grew up in Wisconsin but went to Florida to attend IMG Academy and finish his high school career. The two have kept in close touch since moving to Wisconsin, and the Badgers remained hopeful Allen would return home.
Allen announced via X (Formerly known as Twitter) that he has narrowed his list of schools to Alabama, Nevada, Mississippi State, UCF, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The Wisconsin basketball staff has plenty of competition in front of them to earn a commitment from the prized recruit.
Allen shortened his list to Wisconsin, the Minnesota Golden Gophers’ conference rival
With the roster trimmed, Allen has picked an intriguing group of schools, but one that is still tough to recruit. Conference Competition Minnesota Golden Gophers seven transfers and two modern players were acquired, including a four-star playmaker Isaac AsumaMinnesota doesn’t have any commitments yet in the 2025 class, but most importantly, it remains in play for Allen.
Alabama is the next team on Allen’s list and is easily the biggest threat in the recruiting department. Purple wave They have a second-round 2024 recruiting class that includes the 16th-ranked recruit Derrion Reid as well as three other four-star commitments. The Tide were also one of the busiest teams in the transfer portal, adding ten commitments in three years via the portal, including defender Mark Sears and forward Nelson Grant.
While Alabama is a basketball recruiting powerhouse, another team that Wisconsin’s staff will have to compete with is UCF. Since moving to Florida to pursue his basketball career at the next level, UCF Knights Allen and I have kept in close touch. Bradenton is only three hours from Orlando, and recently there was a possibility that Allen would stay in Florida.
Can the Wisconsin basketball staff get a commitment from Allen?
There’s no doubt that getting a commitment from Allen would be a elevated order given the schools he’s interested in. However, there’s also a chance Allen could return to his home state after spending time away from it during his high school career. Allen has kept in touch with the Wisconsin basketball staff since moving and remains very interested in the program.
Along with his announcement, Allen also revealed the visits he has already scheduled to each program. The forward will be in Madison from Sept. 13-15 to visit with staff and tour campus. This visit could be crucial for the Badgers, as it will likely be his last time on campus before committing.
The Wisconsin basketball players will have to really impress Allen during his visit to show him why he should come home.
