For Valeri, the recruiting process was leisurely at first, but it was largely a time for the recruit to savor what he had accomplished. While the substantial programs Valeri grew up watching haven’t offered him a scholarship yet, he’s hopeful that early contact could turn into future offers.

When asked about programs he would like to work with, Valeri stated, “I would like to hear from UNC because that is my dream school.” Valeri, like many other basketball players and fans, grew up watching UNC Tar Heels dominate in March. The recruit hopes his basketball journey will allow him to potentially become a member of the same school he idolized since childhood.

For Wisconsin basketball and other programs, Valeri is a lively playmaker who can offer them a lot of value on both ends of the court. When asked what makes him stand out, Valeri stated, “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make my team win.” By “whatever,” Valeri meant he can pass, shoot, steal, or block to assist his team.

Valeri is not a pure scorer or a defensive specialist, but rather a jack of all trades who can assist in many ways. The defender admitted that he still wants to improve his game, but is currently focusing on improving his jump and weight. Valeri believes that if he can get stronger and enhance his jumping ability, he will be able to really stand out on the court.
