Wisconsin budget includes out-of-state licensing fee hikes

Out-of-state residents will pay more for hunting and fishing licenses now that Wisconsin’s novel 2023-2025 budget has gone into effect.

Residents will not see an raise in license costs, but hunters, trappers and anglers also will not see many major novel programs in the novel Department of Natural Resources (DNR) budget, despite a projected raise in license costs resulting from an raise in nonresident fees.
The price of an out-of-state deer license has increased from $160 to $200. Out-of-state residents also pay an additional $2 wildlife damage fee and a 75-cent license fee.
