Wisconsin could switch to “numbered” deer units

Wisconsin hunters may soon see a transition from managing deer through district units without population goals to using numbered units bounded by areas of similar habitat that would have population goals. This is the same system that Wisconsin used before the arrival of Dr. James Kroll in 2011 and his 2014 Deer Trustee Report (DTR), which established district deer units and district deer advisory committees.
