Madison, Wis. – Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) presented the amounts and framework of deer collections for the Wisconsin 2024 deer hunting season Wisconsin Natural Resources Board June 26, 2024
The amount without antlers in the 2024 season is 272 837 deer, of 245,245 total permits for harvesting without antlers for purchase throughout the state. These permits constitute an addition to free permits for harvesting without antlers issued in arable field zones, which do not find reflected in this total.
These recommendations were created in cooperation with Councils of County and on the basis of public feedback and the goals of the deer population.

Approved amounts and seasonal frames for each countertop match the recommendation of the appropriate advisory council, with three exceptions. In the county of Iów, in the January season of archery and crossbow, it was extended to match the surrounding poviats, as recommended by DNR. In addition, the Council for Natural Resources, through amendment, provided 400 permits without antlers for public land hunters in Bayfield and Oneid, respectively.
The possibilities of harvesting without antlers will vary depending on deer management units based on the level of the local deer population and management goals. This approach allows greater possibilities of harvesting in zones in which deer is ample and more conservative harvest in which deer is smaller.
In the 2024 season, lawless permits will be available for purchase in all Jeleen Management Units, except for Ashland and Iron, according to the recommendations of the advisory councils of deer counting.
Hunters can buy additional permits for collections without online antlers via Go crazy License portal and on Location of license sales Starting from 10am on Monday, August 12. The first three days of selling bonuses are specific to the management zone, and all other permits have become available on Thursday, August 15.
