Wisconsin Natural Resources Board (NRB) approved a 6% enhance in the Black Bear Collection limit and 14% enhance in the 2024 license in the autumn season 2025.
The target collection of black bears is currently 4075 (3850 last year). The number of licenses available this year will be 13,110 (from 11 501 last year). Randy Johnson, a huge DNR Carnivore specialist, told the board at the meeting on January 22 that the bear’s population is stable or is growing in all bear zones except zone in the n zone in the northwest.
