Wisconsin Football: After visit, LB’s main goal for 2025 is getting closer

After recently placing the Wisconsin football team among his top three programs, the massive recruit is reportedly close to making a decision.

Mason Posa, a four-star 2025 linebacker from New Mexico, was one of the top targets for the Wisconsin football staff. The linebacker has three expert projections to land with the Badgers, and with three top schools released, he could be close to committing. Posa would potentially be a huge addition to the Wisconsin football staff if he commits to Madison.

The Wisconsin football staff has worked extremely demanding throughout the recruiting cycle to achieve its priority goals. The Badgers in particular have made an incredible effort to acquire a player who truly fits the playing style and mentality of Wisconsin football.

2025 four-star linebacker Mason’s Positions has been on the Badgers’ radar for a long time, and now the Badgers are one of three schools left in the race. Posa, the 18th overall linebacker in the class, is currently the top recruit in the state of New Mexico. The linebacker is widely considered one of the best quarterbacks available in the 2025 recruiting class.

Posa can offer exceptional defense and leadership to the Wisconsin Badgers football program

Posa is a deadly attacking machine on the pitch that consistently finds its way around the player once the play is over. The 6-foot-3-inch, 213-pound Posa wrestler and defenseman certainly caught the eye of head coach Luke Fickell with his physique and play. Last season, the linebacker recorded 99 tackles, 14 for loss, seven sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and an interception to end the game.

This elite athlete is more than just a defender, as he is a versatile defensive threat on the football field. Posa can intercept the ball in man coverage, stick the running back for a forced fumble, or chase the quarterback all over the defense. Given his physical skills and football intelligence, Posa has no limits when it comes to defending.

Will the Wisconsin football staff keep its top goal committed?

The Wisconsin Badgers football staff has done everything in its power to land the linebacker position and now all that’s left to do is wait. This coming weekend Posa has an official visit from Oregon ducksand two weeks later he will go to Texas A&M. The linebacker has plenty of time to think about his decision and will likely be able to announce his commitment before leaving for Texas.

Distance wasn’t an issue in Posy’s recruiting, but rather it was the process of convincing the recruit that Wisconsin was his best chance of making the NFL. If the defenseman were to commit to the Badgers, the duo would Tackett Curtis and Posa could become a stern nightmare.
