Wisconsin Football: Announcement of 4-catch weapon causes huge stir

Wisconsin football has seen a number of players enter the transfer portal for the 2025 season, including a total of eight outgoing assets from the Badgers’ secondary.

However, Wisconsin recently received some good news on this front as the Badgers scored a win in the transfer portal by committing Jacksonville State Gamecocks cornerback Geimere Latimer II. On Tuesday, Latimer announced his commitment to Wisconsin football via X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter).

“Badger Nation, what good is it?” Latimer posted photos of himself in a Wisconsin uniform. He’ll soon put on real Badgers threads as he looks forward to helping a Wisconsin defense that finished the regular season ranked 47th in the country with 24.0 points allowed per game and 14th with 183.5 yards allowed per contest.

Latimer played his first two years in college with the Gamecocks, recording four interceptions and 56 combined tackles, as well as a forced fumble. The Tyrone, Georgia native is also the third cornerback (first cornerback) for Wisconsin football to enter the first window of the transfer portal. The other two are guards Matt Jung of the Bethel Royals and Matthew Traynor of the Richmond Spiders.

“I’m glad I have you!”

“Be a great family. Now I have to watch Badger Football. I’m always happy to see young people thriving.💯”

“Thank you for believing in the program.”

“It’s cold in here, bring warmth!”

“Congratulations! Good luck in Madison.”

In his final game for Jacksonville State, Latimer totaled four tackles and one pass defensed in the Jaguars’ 30-27 loss to the Ohio Bobcats in the StaffDNA Cure Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
