Recently, after the 2026 recruiting season began, the Wisconsin football staff reached out to the three-star linebacker.
Amar’e Miller, a three-star defensive back from the class of 2026, has had contact with many programs since the beginning of his recruitment. Miller is a versatile defensive back who has a deep understanding of both his position and football in general. During a recent interview with Wisconsin Sports HeroesMiller revealed the programs that piqued his greatest interest.
Wisconsin Football, Penn State eyeing defensive back Amar’e Miller in 2026
Shortly after the 2026 recruiting period opened, the Wisconsin football staff made contact with the three-star linebacker Amar’e Miller for the first time. Miller is listed under most databases, but he also has plenty of experience playing the linebacker position in high school.
While his recruitment is early, Miller said, “The schools we are contacting the most so far are Penn State, Wake Forest and Toledo.” The linebacker continued, “But I had a lot of programs that I was exposed to, like Ohio State, Florida and Alabama.”
Amar’e Miller: “I’m just starting out, still developing physically and mentally”
Miller feels like the defensive back is just getting started on the field and hasn’t come close to his potential yet. The defender said: “I’m just starting out, I’m still developing physically and mentally. My doctor thinks I could grow to 6’2″-6’3″.”
Mentally, Miller feels like he learns more about the game every time he takes the field. Miller stated, “There are so many more things I can learn about the game that make me even better.” Miller believes that given enough time and proper preparation, he can continue to develop into a monster defensive defender.
The Wisconsin Badgers football staff hopes to develop future relationships
While it’s still early, the Wisconsin football staff hopes to develop a relationship with Miller in the future. The two sides have just made contact, and Wisconsin has the staff that will be there for the long haul.
Miller focuses on developing relationships with both staff and the school in whatever program he ultimately chooses. The defensive back believes the strength of relationships is key to his continued recruitment. If the Wisconsin football staff can maintain close contact with Miller, he could become a potential landing spot.
