During a recent visit and meeting with the Wisconsin football staff, the three-star Illinois native Zachary Washington has booked another visit for the upcoming season. Washington is one of several Wisconsin prospects who will be in attendance for the upcoming Week 3 game against the Alabama Crimson Tide in Madison.

Wisconsin has a lot of intra-conference action this season, but an intriguing non-conference matchup with Alabama has become a game to watch. The Wisconsin football team and staff really like their chances against the Crimson Tide, which is why they opened their doors to talented recruits this weekend.

The adolescent player will have the opportunity to see Wisconsin’s offensive play with his own eyes for the first time.

Zachary Washington: ‘It was a really good visit’

Wisconsin Badgers coach Luke Fickell will be looking for a recent wide receivers coach, as Mike Brown announced he is leaving to join the Notre Dame coaching staff.

For Washington, the recent and upcoming visits were something he enjoyed experiencing, especially because of his ties to the staff. Wide receivers coach Kenny Guiton joined the Wisconsin football staff earlier this year and has since begun reconnecting with recruits he had at Arkansas. Guiton had scouted Washington in the past, but since taking the job much closer to receiver, the relationships have become much stronger.

When asked why he likes Wisconsin so much, Washington stated, “It’s really Coach Guiton at this point.” There are other things that appealed to Washington about Wisconsin, but as he previously stated in an interview with Sports Heroics in Wisconsinthe receiver places relationships with staff and his comfort above playing time or potential NIL opportunities.

Can the Wisconsin Badgers football team secure victory in a massive recruiting game?

It’s one thing for players to experience the campus and the environment that the team can provide on game day. But it’s a completely different experience when recruits can witness the school win substantial in front of their home crowd. It’s a different kind of energy and vibe that’s put out there that can really sell a player on the school.

Wisconsin has a chance to do the same as Alabama rolls into town and prepares to take on the Badgers in front of their own recruits. While Washington will be in attendance, there will be plenty of other recruits there as well, and many who are still considering. Among the players being considered is 2027 quarterback and top target Teddy Jarrad, who also recently visited Madison.

Regardless of the state of their program, beating Alabama is a tough task and it won’t be any easier with home-field advantage. The key to winning this early will be stopping the quarterback Jalen Milroe from finding ways to get their attack going. However, there is still a lot of time left in the match, and recent threats to their attack and defense could appear.
