Wisconsin Football: Braelon Allen’s Eye-Opening Confession About Playing With Aaron Rodgers

Former Wisconsin football quarterback Braelon Allen is starting to turn heads in the NFL. The New York Jets rookie quarterback is just 20 years senior, but his youth didn’t stop him from turning heads in a 24-17 road win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 2. In that game, Allen threw a touchdown and had a touchdown on a reception.

With the performance, Allen became the youngest NFL player since 1930 to score a touchdown in a game.

Being around a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers clearly benefits Allen, who is still learning the game at the professional level.

Allen recently spoke about what it’s like to play with Rodgers, who is set to enter the American Football Hall of Fame once his career is over.

By Rich Cimini of ESPN:

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound Allen grew up in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, watching Rodgers play on TV. Now he’s in the same group as the future Hall of Famer.

“It’s amazing,” said Allen, a fourth-round pick. “Not many people get this opportunity, to be this young at this position at this point in their lives. I’m incredibly happy and proud. I’m just trying to keep building.”

The Jets still consider Breece Hall their No. 1 running back, but Allen is making the most of the opportunities New York has given him. The Wisconsin football player is averaging 5.1 yards per rush and 10.7 yards per catch this season.

Allen could continue his impressive streak in Week 3 when the Jets play their first home game of the season against the division rival New England Patriots.
