Recently a four-star 2026 recruit and a top football target in the state of Wisconsin Cincere Johnson talked about his recruitment.
Johnson, an Ohio native and four-star linebacker, received a scholarship from the Wisconsin football staff in April. Since then, the recruit has exploded and gained enormous attention from many major programs, including Ohio State AND Our Lady. The linebacker currently has 15 major scholarship offers, which will likely change quickly this summer.
Wisconsin State football top target Cincere Johnson reveals the keys to a successful season
If there is one 2026 recruit who really broke out last season, it was the four-star guard Cincere Johnson from Ohio. Johnson considers himself an “enforcer” on the football pitch and is content to fulfill this role with his performances in every match. The linebacker describes his play on the field as “intelligent and explosive” and believes he is a true game-changer on the field.
Last season, Johnson recorded 121 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, seven sacks and three forced fumbles. His incredible performance last season as a sophomore earned him several scholarship offers from programs such as Louisville, State of Michigan, Indiana, West VirginiaAND Texas A&M.
Though he hasn’t received any offers yet, the linebacker says Wisconsin Sports Heroes is also in contact with Ohio and Michigan states.

If there’s one thing Johnson is truly content about the Wisconsin football program, it’s his accomplishments. Johnson admitted that their success stories in developing linebackers and producing NFL talent were intriguing to him.
For Johnson, college must be in a place that will not only allow him to develop his skills on the field. The defender was quoted as saying: “I am looking for a comprehensive school that will develop me on and off the field.” Johnson also stated, “Also in a place that will set me up for the rest of my life and even after I stop playing football.”
While Johnson has great aspirations to make it to the NFL, he is still realistic and understands that he will have to live after football.

While the Wisconsin football staff is still getting to know Johnson both on and off the field, the Badgers are certainly prioritizing the linebacker. Johnson embodies the spirit, attitude and football prowess that the state of Wisconsin looks for in all of its athletes. His aggressive style of play and absurd play on the field forced Wisconsin to keep a close eye on Johnson while remaining in close contact.
