Wisconsin football impresses Georgia 2027 quarterback Teddy Jarrad during huge visit

Each year under a novel Wisconsin football staff since taking over as head coach Lukasz Fickell took over, a massive recruiting event is held in midsummer before camp. Wisconsin invites many top recruits and players that the staff holds in high regard to take a closer look at the staff and the program itself.

One such recruit who was invited to take a closer look was a quarterback with the class of 2027 Teddy Jarradwho has become a priority target for Wisconsin football’s recruiting staff. Jarrad is a lively quarterback from Georgia who currently has several offers, including those from Wisconsin, Virginia TechAND Wake Forest. Jarrad also attracted the attention of others Big Ten Conference programs, but has not yet received any offer from them.

After his visit, Jarrad said he had an “amazing” experience during his up-close visit with the Wisconsin football staff. The recruit is planning to visit again soon for a game this upcoming season, but he doesn’t know which game yet because of the schedule.

At this point, Wisconsin’s staff has expressed interest and made offers to other quarterback recruits, but none have garnered as much interest as Jarrad. Wisconsin views Jarrad as a priority target, and acquiring Jarrad could mean the Badgers are ready to take on the quarterback position.

The Badgers staff has done something similar in the past, signing two lone quarterbacks in 2023. Cole La Crue and signatory 2024 Mabrey MettauerThe Wisconsin staff likes to find its “guy,” and for offensive coordinator Phil Longo, that’s a lofty, sturdy quarterback with good mobility. Despite joining the program delayed in the 2023 cycle, LaCrue fits the mold, as does Mettauer, who was Longo’s first major commitment as a member of the Wisconsin staff.

Another quarterback who would be a perfect fit for Longo is Jarrad, which is a huge reason why the quarterback has become a priority target for the Wisconsin football staff. The quarterback is listed at 6-foot-3 and weighs in at around 190 pounds, with plenty of room to grow.

Will the Wisconsin staff be able to get a commitment from Jarrad in the future?

With the impression that Wisconsin left Jarrad, getting a commitment from the quarterback in the future is not out of the question. However, the process is still very juvenile in Jarrad’s eyes and a commitment seems like something that is still a long way off.

An crucial next step in the process for the Wisconsin football staff is securing a visit to one of the games this upcoming season. The game against Alabama Crimson Tide was popular with recruits, but at this point Jarrad isn’t sure what games he’ll be able to attend. Re-signing the quarterback on campus would be a sharp recruiting tool.
